We’re warming up for the official start of summer in Barbados and there’s so much to do in our sunny holiday paradise. A simple favorite is going to the beach! If you’ve never visited, heard us mention beach and you’re thinking “I’m booking now” or you simply need a brush up on local beaches in Barbados, we’re here to help! You can plan an entire day beach hopping from one sunny spot to another.  Visit the star studded shores of Sandy Lane beach where celebrates like Simon Cowell and Rihanna frolic; to the peace and quiet of Folkestone Marine Park, a family friendly retreat with the ideal picnic spot!

Barbados’ west coast beach lifestyle beings with toes tucked into the sand at Fitts Village beach – a quiet, unassuming beach that is less showy but delivers on all the sun and relaxation one needs.

Further north, this quietness is upstaged by the glitzy, crescent shore of Sandy Lane beach, where stars and adoring fans collide often enough to keep the pages of glossy magazines filled with the island’s beauty.

A stone’s throw away from the star- studded shore, tucked behind the stern façade of the Holetown police station is a strip of calming beach that greets with the usual west coast charm. The sandy path then leads to Folkestone Marine Park located on the outskirts of Holetown, which is a hit with locals as a favourite picnic spot that fills up quickly on key holidays.

Right after Folkestone is Alleyne’s bay, a literal bay of clear waters and warm sands. This spot features sparse vegetation, and as such limited natural shade – but who needs it anyway?
